Recession, depression, the blues

What can you do when celebrations come around and you're short of money?
Also, are you tired of generic birthday parties at Chucky Cheese with Walmart gift bags?

This year I wrote a series of Reader's Theatre plays for my friends and their children to perform.
They were such a hit that I thought I would share them. Now I'm writing short plays for all sorts of occasions.

I have come across children who have never seen or performed in a short play. I'm a teacher and I've heard teachers from all over the country say that their young children don't know how to imagine or even how to play together.

If you'd like to use one, just substitute and names of your friends (and characters) for my friends and characters. Substitute the details that you know from sharing life with your friends for the ones I've included for my friends. For example, change the name of the family pet, to suggest an easy one.

If you'd like help for making these substitutions, just let me know. I teach play writing and have one publication, so I'd be delighted to help.

I have included my first, experimental play for a Christmas and birthday celebration combined.
What do you think?
